"It is verified," a crisp voice cut through the shouting. The bank representative, a man in a grey suit, walked onto the stage from the wings. He nodded to Elena. "Ms. Rossi's wire transfer cleared at 11:59 PM last night. Your bid for foreclosure is void, Mr. Sterling."
